To all of you as distant as Shanghai, Dubai, Buenos Aires, Philadelphia and Pretoria (okay correction (added later to prevent gossiping among Dutchies)), and as close as boggy Den Ilp (!), even to you trolls of Norway and the rancheros de las pampas de La Florentina (we can nearly smell the horses and the asado!), and to the occasional pasteis-de-barbapapas: what a wonderful feeling that you all are accompanying us on our trip to Jadethabud.
It is Friday, the weekend just started after another day at the office. A clear evening sun on a brisky day in early spring, and I was driving home with classic music banging through the car, just realising I was leaving Rotterdam for the last time as husband: the next time I'm driving home I will be father. In six weeks time.

Fede & Jim:
I could just see you driving back to Almere, overwhealmed in joy. The asado and horses will be ready for the three of you whenever you say, I was just told over the phone.
So guess we , your friends, want to see a todays picture of the fresh mother, and see how large her smile is.

You missed Den Ilp in the list of exotic places!
Yesterday was the 'practice run' on how to collect adopted children at Schiphol Airport. Next time it's for real and you will both be on the other end of it.
Enjoy your last moments as a husband/wife without children. Cherish them, realise that your life will change for ever, but definately for the better. Hope that you have as much pleasure from your little boy as we do from our girls - and you will be a very happy couple.
